Default Heater is not blowing hot air

2006 Lexus IS250. Heater was working fine once i got to work it did stop working... was blowing clod air. I check the coolant level its was at the minimum.. But there is a coolant there. So what other reasons beside coolant can cause my heater to stop working

Blocked heater hose or the actuator that directs warm water (coolant) to heat the air box is malfunctioning. I don’t know if actuator is vacuum operated or electric.

Wrong section, however try adding more coolant first.

Usually that is a sign that coolant is low.

I have an ISF but mine did the same. Heat just stopped working. Coolant was low, I filled it up and now the heat blows hot like it did before. I would definitely try filling up the coolant before you do anything more pricey.

Have you checked for leaks in the cooling system?

For what it's worth I'm having a similar issue, took more than 30 minutes for the car to start blowing hot air

I'll have to check the coolant

I topped off the coolant and it solved the issue. I have heater blowing hot air now. Many thanks to everyone + the Houston Lexus GroupMe Chat for advice

^^^Did you check to make sure you don’t have the valley plate leak?

Having the same issue. Does it matter what type of coolant we put in?

I am not an expert but I do not think it matters, I just made sure the shop across the street put in coolant that was also pink.

I found Toyota coolant on Amazon but didn't want to wait a few days, I want an immediate resolution.

It worked, however, I wonder if my leak has gotten worse; my car seems to take more than a few minutes to reach three bars on the dash.

Three bars for the oil temp? That can take 30 minutes at this time of year depending on OAT.

Okay I'm glad you mentioned that because after about -30- minutes of driving I was at two bars and I got really worried. Lately on short (under 15 minutes) trip, I don't see it moving past 1 bar!

In the summer time, it's usually at three bars pretty quickly.

In the past few weeks Houston has had below 40F weather - it sucks.

Perfectly normal for sub 40F temperatures. It takes a long time to heat up almost 10 quarts of oil when you're shunting most of the excess heat into the cabin.
