Default Is this normal with Cops or other motorists?

Today was my third day driving my new 08 ISF and was flagged down by cops twice. Both times I was speeding so I thought I was about to get my first ticket eith the car, but it turned out they both wanted to talk about the car. They had questions like "What does thing make?" "Is it stock?" And my favorite "Is this that new Lexus Sports Car I've been hearing about?" The look on the cops face when I told him it was an 08 was priceless So my question is, is this a normal occurrence with all of you? I know the area I am in is heavy BMW territory and I have never seen another ISF on the road since they came out in 08 so maybe the rarity of the car in the area has something to do with this. My car is stock by the way.

Yeah, alot of people don't know nothing about the car, unless they are big car enthusiast. Here in Ca some cops are familiar with the car, last year we went on a canyon run and chp stopped by and he talked about our cars....this car is very rare!!!

Cops are also people and some of them are enthusiasts, some of them are just curious. It never happened to me but I read similar stories before. It just makes me smile I always give thumbsup to those who are driving nice cars, not necessarily expensive ones but the ones that are well taken care of, some people wave back some just ignore it. I wish more people could share their curiosity, excitement or appreciation with other people

Happened to me when I first got the car. I was at a hotel here in Savannah getting permission to go on the race track on the property for pictures. A Georgia state patrol trooper heard me drive up and was asking a lot about it. He really liked it but made it pretty clear he didn't want to run into me on the highway lol.

I get a lot of attention at track days and with the guys under 25 who know what it is. Track guys are all car freaks so they know whats up.

I notice that if cops do pull me over, it's rarely to give me a lecture about my car or what I'm doing. I rarely speed a high amount to draw attention to my car because I know they'll probably write me up for other things. But I have been pulled over a few times over the course of my ownership (more in the last two years than the first five), and it's very nice to dialogue with them and give them a better explanation of what Lexus F is all about. It's not all about the speeding or the exhaust tips, and it's a treat to see their reactions when we talk.

This has happened every time I'm caught in the act of doing something I shouldn't in my f, always cool/calm and complimenting and given a "warning"

I bought my 08 ISF new and have been driving it in Maryland since. I rarely get anybody trying to flag me down to ask about it, and never police...although I did get a smile from a police officer who saw me snapping pics with his car a year or so ago.

I don't drive my car daily, but when I do, nobody seems to give it a second look, probably because nobody knows what it is anyways.

I never got pulled over yet either, but I think it depends on location. In the Bay Area (CA), cops are ruthless and will pull anyone over with even the slightest mods.

I pulled over a doctor in a 2012 Aventador, $375K. I couldn't believe it, also said no Lien, lol!

He got off with a warning for speeding. He was thankful and shook my hand. lol His hands were shaking when I came back to give him the verbal warning.
