Default Door sills don't light up anymore

Hey all...I know there have been several threads asking this question, but I could find if anyone was able to solve the problem. So I'm coming to you all for some help please...

The blue illuminated sills were already installed when I purchased the car...I just recently noticed that both sides don't light up anymore. I'm not sure when exactly they quit working, but i recently had my battery replaced. I checked every fuse in my car and can't find one that is blown. Is this a fuse problem? or did both sills just decide to crap out together? I checked both connections and they're solid. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Shane

Guess the big question is where they working properly when you purchased the car? If not, I'd suggest the DIY wiring may not be up to scratch!

If you do a search on here, you'll find the wiring guide I and many others have used. Hopefully it's just a case of poor wiring that needs attention.

Don't think anyone had the illuminated sills from factory? Got mine from Sewell's before they stopped the online store.

Sorry, they were working fine until recently when I noticed both sides were out. The only thing I can think of is that I replaced my battery about 2 months ago. It could have been out from that time but I'm not sure. I checked all the connections under the sill and they're solid. I have a 2008...and they were already installed when I got the car. Thanks again for the responses!

Sounds like a fuse to me (highly doubt both would give up at the same time).

I'd get a multimeter on the connections to see if you are getting any voltage to the sills.

Might be best to get an automotive electrician to investigate with some limitations imposed!

Shouldn't take much to figure it out though.

Best of luck!

Yeah....I can't see both crapping out at the same time either...I'll do more investigating. Thanks bro

Highly doubt its a dedicated fuse to the sill. I'm sure the sill would be piggy backed onto a circuit that runs multiple items. You would notice other things didn't work as well. Loose connection, perhaps but they all might be wired up to the dome light maybe since there is a door trigger wired in... If it were a diy, that would be an excellent wire too tap to run it. See if your interior light button is in the off mode when doors open. Worth a shot!

^^ Correct.. That's what I was going to say, the Interior light switch may be set to OFF

Try that...

Yeah, I played with the door light button...it's on. The lights come on when the door is open. I guess I'll try and take the whole thing apart soon. Thanks everyone!

Lightbulb

There maybe a fuse to check as well... But if they're wired to the door switch then the dome light would be out too...
