Default Do you slide around more on the 100% leather seats?

I'm looking at ISFs, specifically 2012-2014 models. I'm warming up to the red leather option though I'd be happy with the leather/Alcantara arrangement too. My question is those of you that have tried/owned both, is there a huge difference in seat gripe in spirited driving? I currently have a WRX with leather and the leather is very slippery and can be a bit annoying during hard driving.

As for Alcantara, how is it holding up for you guys?

Absolutely yes, you will slide around on all leather seats. Alcantara really holds you in the seat, with no sliding at all. I've owned cars with both types of seating materials, and I much prefer Alcantara for sports/performance cars.

Are you speaking directly from experience with the ISF, or just in general? My wife's new Subaru Outback with leather is far more grippy than my WRX's. Same goes for my old G35. If the ISF leather does have some grip, I'm find with it.

Alcantra appears to be pretty sweet but I do worry about maintenance. I have kids and they're very careful with my cars, but accidents can happen. Since Alacantra is a man-made pourus material, I do have some concerns about it's longevity.

I have a 2008 F w/all leather seats. I recently took her on a road trip to the SF bay area. Went from Seattle & returned avoiding the Interstate the entire trip.
I was amazed at how well the seats (& car) gripped in the twisties, esp. Hwy. 53 in Oregon & Hwy 1 in N. Cali. Although the grip is not in the same league compared to the aftermarket seats in my other fun car (a modded Mr2t w/Bride Gias), I didn't have to concentrate on bracing myself against the door panel or using the steering wheel to keep myself centered. And I'm not exactly large (5'7" & 135 lb.). I must add, though, that I haven't autocrossed or tracked the F (yet).

The full leather seats are way slippery to me.... You gotta use some body control to stay put.
In cotrast to the 2011 IS250 F Sport seats with the alcantra / micro suede (w.e u call it) inserts... Which you really dont move in at all.

The full leather seats are nicer though, much more durable and classy imo.

I like to wear basketball shorts BC im a bum. When I do, the leather seats are ICE. Lol.

I find that the cleaner/conditioner used can make a good bit of difference. Lexol seems to make the leather a little more tacky

Would depend on your body type to some degree. I'm only 152lbs but have some decent lats that get squished in by the seat bolsters. Different material wouldn't lock me in any more.

My GF on the other hand, I'm sure she could slide around a bit in the seat.

I suggest using a different cleaner. Sonax leather cleaner is phenomenal for the money (leathernique is considered the top stuff but it's out of my budget) and doesn't create the super slick surface. If you go into a dealership and sit in new vehicles, you will notice that the leather is far slick. You want the leather to have oils in it to make it soft but be somewhat naked so it can breath.

I didn't really stay in place with the 08 seats.. kind of annoying on high G turns. Alcantara on the center of the seat or full alcantara seats would of solved this issue.

I have an is300 with all leather. The is F is alacantra with leather. You don't slide at all. I slide around in my is300 its bone stock and slow as s$#t.

I love the alacantra. Didn't think I would an was a little upset when I went to buy from the seller. Wouldn't think twice about it again. Its like glue.
