Vinyl wrapped my roof
Hey guys,
Long time member here. Just got an IS-F that I've been wanting for years. Had a 98 GS400 and 07 GS450h before finally getting the F. Got a 2008 with 90k miles for $24k.
Anyways, I wanted to started modding it right away so I went ahead and ordered some vinyl for the car. I decided to go with a gloss ember black which is a purple/black vinyl (3M GP282). It's black under 90% of conditions but when the sun hits it you can see it as purple. Plus it has purple with gold flakes. A buddy and I spent a couple of hours taking our time and wrapped the roof. We aren't professionals but this wasn't our first time vinyling as we had previously done my whole GS400 (took about 24 hours over the course of a couple days). The wrap on the roof came out really well and I am very happy with how it looks.
If anyone wants a step by step directions I can do it. Just know that it's a little harder than it looks and I would advice you have at least 1 other person.
Next to come are drop, exhaust and headers.
Any who, here are the pictures:

Thanks everyone. Really loving the car. I want to take it to the 1/4 and eventually a real track course.
You will need about 5x6 feet of vinyl to do the roof and shark fin. That comes out to about $75 from metrorestyling.com. The more you get the cheaper the cost per foot. I have 75 feet of gloss cosmic blue (i was going to do my gs450h) sitting at home that I got for a little over $600.

This is one of the very first mods I wanted to do on my car (especially with the color SFP). I was thinking about doing it myself and have been watching YouTube videos on how to do one on a Lexus but it seems most videos are for Subarus which requires you to take off the side railings? Anyways, you did an awesome job! Can you post the step by step instruction or make a video?

Hey, me too, just last week. Check the pics. I had a shop do it for 250 flat.
Looks good pal!

My car is wrapped the same way, albeit with CF vinyl. I can't stand that they didn't wrap the entire width of the roof - it doesn't flow nicely with the front and rear window.
