I'll tell you my honest opinion NO, I know that doesn't make any sense
With the dyno results as they currently sit.

Actually Novel wrote me earlier yesterday and asked for my honest unbiased feedback (good or bad) and I gave it to them. I told them subjectively the thing is off the charts awesome!

Actually I'll just post my email response to them I think it perfectly captures my sentiment.

"Hello Jamal Tabeb

We hope everything with you is well.

Thank you for your recent purchase of our ECU tuning for IS-F.

We believe that you have received and already installed it onto your IS-F. We saw some of your post in the Lexus Club. We would like to know how the EUC is working on your car and to have your feed back on it.

Either positive or negative comment would be appreciated. We would like to use it for our further product improvement.

Thank you

Regards

Keisuke Sato

NOVEL

I am not sure how to explain.

I am Very Happy with the product .

It FEELS faster and more powerful.

But dyno shows a LOSS, compared to baseline.

Cars performance on the road shows its significantly faster.

Cannot explain such a strange thing, dyno shows loss, car FEELS Faster, PULLS Harder, and has measured higher trap speed in quarter miles (114mph).

So I LOVE it, but don't ask me to explain why it does poorly during dyno test.

My friend is teasing me, he says I wasted $2500.00 Usd.

I told him I am very happy to keep it, it's a bargain !

So qualitatively it's fantastic!

For some reason it does not quantitatively do well on the dyno .

I can't explain that. (Maybe you have some ideas?)

Other than it testing poorly I have no issues.
Driving the car I CAN TELL ITS FASTER because I am MUCH MORE TRACTION LIMITED.

I would just like to be better able to demonstrate performance gains through performance metrics.

I think people who buy it will be very happy once it is installed in the car!

But I worry that current dyno may keep people from having interest.

People lost interest after Poor dyno.

I showed my 1/4 mi trap time on club Lexus , now
I think I have regained quite a bit of interest. The car showed it had more power in that test (114mph). And now quite a few people want to borrow mine for "testing".

I think interest is there but people will wait until it is proven objectively.

I very much enjoy your products!

If you ever need me to do testing for you (like a pair of headers) I will be very happy to do so!!

Thank you and I will continue to provide any feed back you request.

I did have a chance to run my car with the Novel ECU against other cars on the street. I was VERY HAPPY with the outcome of those encounters with other cars!!

I hope this helps you . Contact me any time if you have questions and THANK YOU for making this available in USDM!

V/R

One more thing...

New Redline RPM is FANTASTIC!!!

I can now hold 2nd gear to 70mph and 3rd to 100mph. This make a large , noticeable POSITIVE advantage during acceleration because you can hold lower gear for longer.

Big difference against other cars!!

Okay ONE LAST THING,

People don't know if this is real or fake, they can't find the Facebook post I used . Also you should STRONGLY conside adding an ENGLISH PAGE To your website that discusses the USDM products. People want to get more information but is all in Japanese .

There is a very large demand for details and information about this product (did you see how many views this topic generated in such a short time ?).

If people can go to Novel JP website and find information IN ENGLISH, then I think you will receive a GREAT number of inquires.

People trust in novel but the want to read information for themselves, not be told from someone else.

If it is From NOVEL, it is OFFICIAL!

From me, it is not .

Anyway , I hope this helps improve your business here in USDM I HOPE TO SEE MORE PRODUCTS

And there is GREAT INTEREST here on ECU tuning for new Lexus RCF."

Dude! I think that e mail summarized this entire thread, thus far! IMHO👍 I'm grateful for you for doing this! I can't wait to read on their reply! Hopefully, they report back with a logical explanation. You also hit the nail on the head with the other topics about their brand, products, and website info! I think we're hopefully on to something! If it makes the car much funner to drive! Something is definitely going on. What cars did you run?

Just mustangs, but these were BUILT N/A mustangs , 14s mostly seen not that 15s yet but I did find one built 15, he was not in the mood at the time(maybe later)

I'll tell you this about the "fun to drive factor" or "smiles per gallon"

It takes GREAT SELF DISCIPLINE to keep it out of sport manual mode with "red" APEXi throttle mode. I mean don't get me wrong I love this car before I got this

But I'll be honest .... I TOTALLY SUCK AT SELF DECIPLINE since getting this Novel ECU, I mean I'm absolutely terrible! My wife had a flat this morning had to run her to school (she's a teacher) and drop my three kids off at school as well (yes it is a 5 pax if you count having 80lb 11 year old twins .

Stress stress stress right?

NOPE! (It was all smiles from me)

(And screaming from the wife, laughing from the kids)

Nothing beats that!

Just curious guys, but I thought the ISF is trapping between 112-114 stock?? There are others on this board who have trapped in the high teens with I/H/E...............so did I read wrong or is this an improved trap time?

Um how to say this without getting in trouble ....

Those are usually track times on slicks or drag radials.
(I think I'll let you fill in the rest)

Honestly I don't think boiling it down to just a trap speed and times is going to be definitive answer. There are too many variables much like a dyno when it comes to that stuff. Who knows how we will really define this is an effective mod. Sure butt dyno results seem nice but $2500 is a steep price for a non-factual mod. Curious to see how Novel responds, they appear to be lurking in this thread so they have to know we want to see results.

I have way to much ADD for this.

Please tell me that it works or doesn't?
That ECU shows power gains on Dyno?
ECU doesn't throw codes and if it does I can just swap out?
Huge investment and still unpredictable

Keep me posted. I like to make sure its legit before dropping $2k

So the OP took it to the track and it trapped 114mph or am I missing something?

They usually trap between 110 - 113mph completely stock. This is highly dependant on track and climate conditions of course.

An exhaust/header isf on drag radials has trapped as high as 121mph.

Of course not , but CONFLICTING rather definitive might be a choice description.

The only VERIFIED claim is that I do indeed have a 7200rpm redline .

Nothing more than that

Default Open question to those that are dyno testing knowledgeable ?

Question ?

I was watching the dyno video I took when something caught my eye .

This is a photo from the video, shows the same cooling air supply used last time.

Is this ENOUGH air. (I don't have enough experience to know)

It's the orange blower in front of the nose of the car.

Any inputs greatly appreciated , yes that was the only airflow
