I haven't gotten around to replacing mine yet, there is no free play, and the noise isn't that bad. Will probably do this spring. Let us know if rock auto timken ones turn out to be the right ones

Ok, will do!

So your issue with the bearings hasn't gotten worse over the past 12 months or so??

Based on this I'm assuming this isn't an issue that has to be fixed right away then?

save yourself the trouble and just go with OEM.

I've done this on m F. although its expensive, its worth it. I actually had a faulty brand new oem one and they sent me another one. the ABS sensor was faulty on the back of the wheel hub bearing assembly.

OEM units were really nice.

Did you try an aftermarket hub first? Or just went straight to OEM to be safe?

Also what were your symptoms on your hubs/bearings going bad??

Also how much was install cost/time?

no i went straight to OEM. the thing is most aftermarket manufactures have the part number for the is250/is350. its not the same.

i had a helicopter sound. after i changed it, smooth as butter, dead silent in the car now.

the oem part looked very nice and high quality.

did the install myself in about 20 mins. very easy. 20 mins including jacking up my car per side.

Oh wow! Ok didn't know the install would be that easy

What do you think the cause is for the hubs/bearings going bad on the ISF??

I've read on some websites that they should last the life of the car unless it was in an accident/curbed your wheel etc........

Hubs are considered a standard wear item on cars used for track duty. It all depends on how your car was driven by the original owner. Just one of the reasons I don't buy used cars very often.

Hit a few pot holes or drive over rough roads/traintracks any sort of hard impact or shock will lead to premature bearing failure causing shorter life. Like Lobux said this is regular maintenance part , not sure who told you it should last the life of car. Maybe if they drive on smooth as glass roads lol

Makes sense, don't know how the car was driven the first 54k miles, but I definitely know how it's been driven the past 20k miles and they have been hard miles so this doesn't surprise me, thanks for the confirmation

Yea, it wasn't anybody specifically saying the ISF hubs were suppose to last the life of the car but just some general reading I was doing when I googled "why do hubs go out/fail" but I had a suspicion that was meant for normal cars that don't see the possible high loads this car can be subjected to if driven in track like conditions.

I got my hubs at Autozone. See thread here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-bearings.html

No issues so far.
