Just picked up a 2012 IS-F
So I picked up a 2012 IS-F last night. Had to drive all the way to LA from San Diego but it was well worth it. Been on the lookout for one for awhile now but knew I wanted to get a 2011 or newer. It had 41k miles on it and got a great deal so pulled the trigger on it. Is there anything specific I should be looking for in terms of maintenance? I have an appointment tomorrow with my Lexus service advisor to take a look at it but the carfax came out clean with only one owner. Here's a pic and more to come later. I'm coming from a 2009 Lexus IS 350 sport pkg. What a big difference in power and handling. Now I'm planning on selling my IS 350 even though it only has 33k miles on it. Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it was in Montclair. Took a look at a few in San Diego and not what I wanted because I'm pretty picky so jumped on the one in Montclair. Price was right at $40k. Very clean and well kept with a few minor chips and scratches. I called yesterday morning to look at it and somebody else did right after but I was lucky to close the deal! I traded in my 2010 Tahoe LTZ so got a great deal.

Congrats, I recently got my 2012 also and loving every time I start her up. I would say join my Lexus drivers and follow the maintenance schedule there. Also you can see what has been done previously on the car if it was maintained at the Lexus dealer.

Thanks and good luck. The wife originally wanted a white one but she's happy with the purchase as she'll be enjoying it more than I will when I deploy. where in CA are you located? I spotted a few 2012s but were too far of a drive for me.

Thanks and it was washed and waxed before I left LA but it was raining hard last night on the way home. Looks like it's gonna be clear skies all week so might wash it today!

very cool !! 2012 means you have all of the really good and significant updates. 2012 is also a rare bird since volume fell sharply as the model aged

That's exactly why I wanted to go with a 2011 or higher but I'm glad I got MY12. I looked at 2009s that were still for sale at $35k so I figured I'd get the 2012 for $5k more. I even looked at a 2011 for $36k but it had a carfax history of being stolen and broken in to with a lot of cosmetic damage. It was great but too much work needed to go into it for a 2011.
