As a followup to our promotion we are offering on Winmax pads for our September 12th track day....

Here is some info on compounds we recommend:

W2 compound (ceramic) -- intended for sports use with low noise and dust applications. Rated up to 932F, so it should easily work for trackday type use.

W3 compound (metallic) -- Intended to be dual purpose street/track pad, can run up to 1112F. We already have one attendee with an ISF running this pad.

W4 compound (metallic) -- more of a competition compound but totally streetable. We are currently running this on our shop ISF. Rated to 1200F.

We can get W5+ compounds, but quite frankly, we do not think this is necessary for anything other than a true competition endurance application.

One thing that everyone has to keep in mind is that the ISF has a very cabable and robust braking setup... this is not like guys running BRZ's or S2000's and need to use race pads at the track with stock brakes because the thermal capacity of their braking system is ****.

If you are on a budget I have several track pads with some life on them from light testing as well as new XP12/10 on the shelf that we can help you out with. We also have some some new pads from RB that will work well and hybrids and very reasonably priced. The more aggressive pads will be street noisy until you can get them up to temp, so its a compromise on driving to the track.

Brakes are just one more tool in the bag, You can waste them or manage them accordingly, its all about how deep you want to carry your braking point and how heavy your foot is. If you pay attention to feedback you can get away with much more than you think. Think of it as a budget per lap that feeds into the overall temperature load of the braking system. Pads, rotors, fluid all have their own capacities and if you take the time to see what happens every couple laps plus allow cool down you will increase your time on track and safety driving home.

Bjoints are on their way.

I am bringing Winmax W3 & W4's with me to the track just in case you need them:-)
