Default Good price for factory lsd carrier?

So looking to upgrade the 08 differentail to an lsd type. Found a slavage 11 carrier but they want 2450 for it! I called them and didn't want to move on price.

Now you can get a brand new carrier for lexus for 3525 or I could go os gilken for 2750 plus install. What say you?

Check out the review thread from speed freaks. There's a shop in orange county selling the os giken for 2100 dollars.

It's the factory torsen lsd seems pretty pricey for a used part when brand new carrier is only 1000 more.

The HD is not even listed by OS Giken for the IS F. The HC is the only one they list, and it is $2750+/- everywhere. The HD is NOT recommended for high horsepower applications. Waste of time to buy it and install it.

AFA factory Torsen vs. OS Giken - the Torsen works just like an open diff as soon as the inside wheel loses traction. AMHIK. The OS Giken never stops applying torque to the wheel with traction. AMHIK. I like the Giken unit WAY better.

If downtime is a problem, I would recommend buying an '08 or '09 unit (they are cheap) and installing the Giken LSD, then swapping units and selling the old unit and the old spool.

So your saying clutch system far superior to torsen? The only reason I like the OEM is one its plug and play and two maintenance on oil change intervals is much less.

Just not willing to spend tat much for a used part..

From a driver's perspective, I like the clutch way better than the Torsen.

OS Giken's claim to fame is their system has a very long service life, unlike the competitors in this space.
