GSF has already been confirmed but weve heard nothing solid about a new ISF. Im sure if Lexus truly confirmed a new isf there would of been more chatter on it.

And seeing as how the new IS bodies are ugly from the rear doors on, I'd think they'd have to do some serious fender/side aero/ rear bumper/tail light work to make it better looking ..

It'll come back I believe, eventually......I see one major reason for the delay & serious inhibitor to F-branding success......They need a new engine! I love my ISF & am fond of the motor, but when its now evolved primary competitors are releasing twin turbo 6's & 8's that to be brutally honest,, out muscle the Lexus RCF V8, they need to respond. It is, very promising however, to see that Lexus are making progress with chassis dynamics & handling.
Given the lengthy development cycle of Lexus cars, I'm sure they're already on it though. It's the only missing piece of the puzzle.
I think they should hold off on the GS-F, until they have a replacement twin turbo motor. Then they can pass it to the rest of the performance F cars, release a new ISF & upgrade the RC-F to really stick it to the M3 & C63.

.....That car might be two or three years away....
They also state it is just a 'project' of TMG.

I am actually done with any expectations from Lexus/Toyota.
ISF will never come because it would significantly compete with the GSF and impact sales. Why buy a GSF when theres another 4 door Lexus that is cheaper with the same engine? Plus would be lighter and a better performer. It will do anything and everything a GSF will do, but better. Lexus/Toyota already shows they don't like competing 'performance' vehicles.
For those expecting a super performance engine with turbochargers...highly doubtful, especially from Lexus. More likely you will see some one off project by TMG again just to show off 'what could be possible' but never put in to production. And lets just say if they did do another special performance engine, it would suck because it would be so much more advanced than the ISF, good luck modifying or cracking it...and you will be left to only doing intake and exhaust mods. Bwwahaha! Get real guys.

Those buyers aren't exactly the same people looking to get in to a 'high performance' 4 door machine. When you are talking about a higher performance class, weighting the pros and cons on what you want are different compared to the buyers of a GS350 and IS350. Same holds true for your point, "Why buy a GSF when there is an GS350 F-Sport?" The true F cars are only catered to buyers who know exactly what they want...and they want performance(not just the engine, but in handling and braking). Which is why I think they should of just continued the ISF rather than build a huge F boat out of the GS. Who buys a heavy GS for cornering and handling or taking it to the track? When was the last time you seen a GS owner at the track? The difference between the RCF and the RC350 is $20k...that 20k is for the engine and performance over the 350. I wouldn't spend my money on a glamorized GS350 + $20k with less than stellar performance. My point, is that the 2UR engine has no point being in the the GS and is more suited for the IS. But Lexus has their heads up their ***, so they think people want "fast luxury grocery getter" 100% of the time. And because there is now a GSF, there will no longer be an ISF.
