Finally got my dream car :)
I just recently acquired a black 2008 lexus isF . First impressions are well i love lexus ever since my 1st car which was a 2002 lexus is300 also black lol, i love the v8 sound specially WOT and that second air intake opens up , the sporty look and of course the power it makes. i just wanted to introduce my self and say i am proud of being an isF owner and part of this amazing community.
First issue i have and question for you guys. I replaced the front brake pads with original brembo one because they were making a metal to metal noise, when i took them off i notice that they were almost done and due for a replacement. After replacing the brake pads the car stops amazing and brakes so much better than before but, the noise of metal to metal still there when the car is almost coming to a complete stop. rotors are at 29mm so still plenty of life left.
any suggestions and help is appreciated.

Along with bedding (basically find some open road and run 4 or 5 80-20mph stops) did you use grease on both sides of the shim? I usually uses crappy autozone brake pad grease for street pads and a much higher temp copper grease for the track pads. Keeps them nice and quiet.

i used some but i think the bed in process is the one i need to get done and see if the noise comes off. i did not know it had to be done, 1st time doing a brake job
do you put grease in between pad and shim? and also on the outside of the shim?
thanks for all the love and help guys. main reason why i love lexus community .

Congrats and nice car!
My car had a bad break squeak when I first got it. Lexus said there was updated brake parts that mine did not have (just some small things). After they replaced those the squeaking was almost completely gone, it still squeaks sometimes at very slow speed when light on the brake. Just something that is somewhat normal with high performance brakes.

thanks justinco.
i will double check on those parts and see if they were the original ones from 2008 or a newer part like you mentioned. i read about this brembo high performance brakes squealing but i really don't think the squealing metal to metal noise is normal. i will keep you guys update it

Congrats on the car, looks very clean! You will definitely enjoy it a a lot.
From my experience, the installer for the brake pads usually "bed" them in by a sequence accelerating to certain speeds then braking moderately. It's sort of like breaking into a new pair of jeans.
I'm not sure exactly at what speeds for bedding, but I'm sure Google will tell you.

thank you so much for a warm welcom guys appreciate it. obsidian black is definitely a great color and goes well with the isF.
back to the brakes issue lol so i did the bed in process last night and have seem to help with the issue, however when i am coming down to a stop and i have my foot on the brake pedal till it stops that's when i seem to hear the noise but if a wait to be closer to braking and press on the brakes i don't hear it.
thanks for the answers and all your help guys, i really appreciate it.
if i can't fix it i might have to have lexus diagnose the problem and have them fixit depends on the charges of course lol
