Default Has anyone added additional parking sensors?

So, not sure if this would work or not. But I was wondering if anyone has attempted to add additional parking sensors to the system? My thinking, was to add sensors to the front bumper in a way to alert if your getting to close to the curb or parking stump when you park. I couldn't find anything on a search. If this is possible, this could be the next great mod.

I would love to have something that tells me when I'm getting to close to a parking curb, I'm always afraid that I'm going to go over one and rip my front bumper off. subscribed.

could it be as easy as buying a sensor drilling a hole and piggy backing it off one of the other sensors? perhaps someone with access to the Toyota techinfo site can give us a rundown of the system and maybe some wiring diagrams

edit: the problem I see is if the sensor is too low its going to pick up the ground/road and constantly be buzzing as your driving along.

Back in the 60s we had curb feelers. Get 'em on Amazon

Not absolutely sure but I believe they only buzz at low speeds.

I've added some "parking sensors", although they do a little more than help with parking.

PM for details.

I was just talking about this with another fellow owner about this. I complained how dated the system felt in my car compared to newer cars i get to drive. He brought up the idea of just adding more sensors to detect lower objects.
