You have a point.. I take the picture then am very specific in letting them know I don't want my vehicle driven one mile when all I'm getting is my oil changed, or new molding put on my door. But yes, that's a great idea because if it's not in writing, it's usually not worth anything.

No I wouldn't ask him to joy ride it! But one thing is for sure, the porters and techs do. Even for oil change, I've seen them leave the lot. Timed it once they were gone about 5min. And for what? An oil change requires a test drive. Lol

I don't mind. I tell them to make sure the engine is warm before getting on it. They will never be able to drive the car as hard as I do at the track in the streets.

If you want to cover your butt, have the service adviser write down the odometer reading and sign it on the work order along with a photo of the odometer. Maybe a photo with both.
Almost, write down the mileage yourself and record a video of it with the date and time and a few other comments you're dropping the car off at the dealership for service.

And if I caught him/her driving it, they would be sorry they ever met me.

^^^ Lol, I could turn a 4 into a 9 with a penstroke and give myself 5 miles of fury... Dont trust anyone, ever. Would they like to go for a joy ride? Sure! (if i like you) But they will be in the passenger seat.

I'm that guy too. I only take mine in for warrantee service anyway. I service my own vehicles, well documented of course. And to be honest, I don't think my SA would drive my car if I asked him to.

I have to agree that the guys know my car is off limits to play with, they know I'm watching.. (which is OK as long as your not a jerk) How many service guys does it take to put your car on a lift. 4 gotta love Toms diffusers.

If the SA is a fine looking girl who will give a substantial hook up after the visit, she can joy ride anytime!
