MPG for ISF Joe z PTS exhaust Vs stock exhaust
Hey Guys,
Just need a little input here. I am thinking about getting Joe z's PTS exhaust for 2012 ISF but just want to know if I would get less MPG or same as stock if I installed Joe z's PTS system. Right now I am getting around 27 - 28 MPG highway on IS.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I honestly can't give you a definitive answer. Fuel mileage, particularly since installing the exhaust system on my F, has not been a high priority. I know one thing... I have NEVER seen anywhere near the mileage you are obtaining, with or without an aftermarket exhaust system.

When I got the IS, I thought I would get at most 23 highway. But I was surprised to get around 26-28 highway. I did a few 300 miles trips and got 26-28 average. I even took a picture of it.

My ISF mpg got noticeably worse because of how much I would step on the gas!!!
BUT! When I would cruise and drive on long distant trips, my MPG seriously got better by around 2-3 mpg, probably due to less weight on the car and a lot less restrictions allowing the engine to breathe a lot easier!
If you have any questions, feel free to email me!

Honestly, it's not that worse compared to stock, presuming you drive the same way. With the decrease in weight and more of a free flow design, I'm sure everyone at one point or another has floored the F just to hear that exhaust sing. I averaged around 17/22 prior to the exhaust change. Now I'm at a consistent 16/20, which isn't bad for a V8, but I didn't buy the car to worry about gas, even though California gas stations are straight screwing with consumers right now.

I have Joe Z exhaust and regularly acheive 28 MPG on the highway....that is when I have the will power to drive it like Grandma. It will tell you, it is a lot harder to do once the exhaust goes on.

That's amazing mpg! I drive like grandma most of the time when I'm commuting and the best I ever got was 24 mpg. Average 22 mpg for the 8 months I've owned my car (99% stock).

The only time my mpg really drops, is when I start getting into the throttle (like when they were first installed). Otherwise, keeping acceleration smooth and adapting my driving style does the job. In practical terms, my old commute allowed me to do two weeks per tank, and that was my bar for judging this. A small shift in the mpg readout was only noticeable if I were playing with numbers, but it didn't matter since I still stopped at the station every two weeks.
