Default Anyone want a Greddy exhaust for $5k??

Found this while perusing teh interwebs for an exhaust, in my feeble attempts to find someone willing to part with an ISS forged exhaust

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GREDDY-LEXUS-ISF-Titanium-Catback-and-Exhaust-RARE-/181798134238?hash=item2a540361de&vxp=mtr#viTabs_0
Is this someone on here? Seems to me they're out of their flipping minds asking $5k for a heavily used exhaust that was $4k new. "System is used, approximately 5,000 miles." is a complete load, that system has seen way more than 5,000 miles. Oh, and the icing on the cake is the tips are nowhere to be found in pictures, so it probably looks as bad as the rest of the exhaust and they are the most appealing part of this exhaust.

Just had to rant / gauge your guy's opinions...

People who think they have something unique and rare will try to sell it at a higher price. People think that if it has "carbon fiber" or "titanium" or "forged" it will sell faster and/or at a higher price than the market. If someone really wants it, they will deal with the price of paying a higher amount than what we as owners and enthusiasts would deem a fair amount. I love the Greddy exhaust, and I still want one, but paying $5k for an exhaust that seems to be in worse condition than seen in its pictures (condition looks much worse than 5k miles) is flatout absurd.

It'd make more sense to save that money toward something that actually adds power.

I have this exhaust. It is a 100% titanium true dual exhaust that adds about 18 whp. The OEM exhaust weighs 71-pounds, whereas the GReddy exhaust weighs 35-pounds. Only 15 of these exhausts were made and sold at the introductory price of $3995. To the best of my knowledge, the 15 exhausts sold quickly, so I am not privy to GReddy's rationale for discontinuing this exhaust. I'm biased, but I think it was the best aftermarket exhaust available for our cars.

As to what a used GReddy titanium exhaust is worth, I suppose it depends on how badly someone wants one, assuming questions regarding completeness and condition are answered favorably. I suspect the OBO will be in play but, with something this rare, one never knows. If I was interested, I would contact the seller and get my questions asked and answered before making a deal or moving on.

Ken.

Too rich for my blood. But it should be of note that titanium exhausts are quite expensive. I've seen e60 m5's ti exhausts go for $8K+.

Not sure what benefits titanium offers besides being light weight..if I were looking to shave lbs i'd look else where.

You prob. can make a titanium exhaust the way you want it for less. Throw him an offer before giving him 5k...

I'll save my money and keep my borla. If I have my car for the next 15 years and the exhaust rots out, I'll buy another borla. If if my wife gets an F in the meanwhile, I'll buy her a borla all for the same price of that one new.

Badass exhaust and do want, but typical jackass trying to make a buck on a "rare" part. In my opinion breaking even selling something used is considered a win in my book. They didn't even bother cleaning it up for the pics.

Plus didn't I read somewhere Greddy would consider making another batch based on enough interest? I'd pay 4k for a new one.

Yes, Greddy is making another exhaust system for our cars. They were looking for a bone stock ISF to use as their test mule. I contacted them to volunteer. Unfortunately my car wasn't stock, so they passed on using my car.

Nice. It's not going to be titanium if I recall though. Going to be one of their newer models, but will likely still sound awesome. Long as it's through bumper and has a ti tip option I'm sold and haven't even bought an ISF yet.
