Need help! CEL after ELF Recall!
Hi Guys,
So, long story short, my dealership carried out the fuel pressure and cooling fan recalls earlier this week.
Everything went well according to the service manager, but when they went to start the car after putting everything back together, there is a check engine light on the dash.
The technician apparently said it was coming up as a fault with the airflow meter?? They've got Lexus GB involved, but haven't had any luck fixing it so far.
It's so bad that the technician is calling me tomorrow to discuss it!
I know it's not much to go off, but any ideas on what they should be checking would be great.
I know the intake manifold came off to do the fuel recall, so can anyone think what they might have done or not done when they reassembled it??
I'll hopefully have better details after I speak with the tech in the morning.
I'll post again when I know more.
Guess I'll be keeping their IS300h for a while longer!!
Thanks for any help you can offer guys.
Cheers.
Peter

I thought I read in the ELF thread that somebody had a CEL after the recall was performed and it turned out to be that the technician didn't connect a sensor all the way (till it clicked tight) so it eventually pulled apart at the connector, and they just had to reconnect the sensor that was unplugged?
Don't know what yours could be but might be something to keep in mind.

Thanks mate.
I'll mention that when I speak to the technician tomorrow for sure.
Also going to suggest he checks the HPS intake connections are tight, and he hasn't deformed the piping on the airbox by overtightening the jubilee clip.
Be good to know what fault codes they are getting?
Hopefully I'll know more soon.

Lexus Fanatic
I think RedlineAZ had an issue with his as well. Not sure what it was . I think it had to do with fuel ending up somewhere it shouldnt be . I will ask him and let you know

I was going to have them do mine in a couple of weeks when I need service but I keep seeing these posts so, as much as I want them to find the coolant leak ( if there is one ), I dont need any drama. Might just wait a little longer . Let them practice a bit more

You know I think it was your experience that I read about on that sensor not being connected properly. Hopefully the OP gets this resolved without any major headaches or issues

Spoke to the technician - Lee this morning.
Not really given me much to work with at all sadly.
He claims to have check and re-checked all the connections, pipes, hoses etc. Still got these two codes and the check engine light on the dash.
Called the service manager a moment ago, no luck! Apparently his top code reading technician is due back in on Monday.
Means I have the IS300h till Monday at the earliest.
Don't like the thought of my car locked away in the dealership for the weekend, but guess there isn't much I can do!
Hopefully I may at least get more information from them on Monday after there code guy does a better diagnostic.
Not impressed!!!

Think he said E0102 and P0113?
Not sure if the error codes are the same here in the UK?
Both are related to the AFM. That much he could tell me!
Apparently there is a Master Tech now going over the wiring diagrams and fault codes.
Will let you guys now as and when I hear anything more.
Cheers.

They think it's solved!
Was a problem with one of the pins in one of the wires (not very specific I agree!).
Should be getting the car dropped back tomorrow afternoon.
Really hope that's all it was. Not sure where I stand with further issues down the line??
I won't even be at home when they drop the car back tomorrow afternoon, but I need to remove my strut brace before I can check the condition of the wires etc under the engine cover anyway.
I have a few photos I took before they took the car for the recalls, so will argue it if needed.
Hopefully it'll be fine though with no issues.

Wow. Maybe it was just a pin getting pushed in or bent when reconnecting something. If that's the case it seems like a reasonable mistake. Still unfortunate you had to deal with the downtime though!
