You have to use different things on the dash, the alcantera and leather.

There is no "one solution fits all" here.

I guess the reason I am really upset is not because Lexus won't cover it, but because Lexus covers replacement in IS 250/350 but won't cover IS-F. Feels not right they singled out IS-F owners.

this is an example why a lot of people never buy the first year production model.

Lexus covers interior replacement in IS 250 and 350 even when car is out of warranty. They know they screwed up bad. But they won't do it for IS-F's for some reason that defies my logic.
If they are covering it out of warranty, it is on a case by case basis. L-SB-0144-11 says standard warranty, nothing more.
APPLICABLE WARRANTY
• This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
• Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

My service advisor says 100% out of warranty claims for IS 250 / 350 he had got approved for free replacement. He was as stunned as I am after Lexus refused to cover my IS-F replacement.

I will repeat one more time - Lexus covers this for out-of-warranty IS 250 and 350, but won't cover for IS-F.

By the way - I complained about this issue during warranty - even got the dashboard replaced once.

My F has similar issues with the interior door panels getting soft and sticky in the Florida heat. I played the game with Lexus Corporate as well, but the regional representative told me that I was the first IS-F owner to report this issue. In the end, corporate would only offer to cover 25% of the cost of replacing the panels even though the issue has existed since I bought the car.

There is a class action lawsuit for this issue that was started by the Ferraro law firm in Miami. I spoke with them a few weeks back and they are including IS-F owners as well as the 06-08 second generation IS owners. The contact information is below.

This sucks.

One thing I have learned is stay away from armoral. I heard recently they changed their product bc it was destroying leather. The owner of my is300 had use it on the dash and now it is melting. Litterally you can take your finger, push it against the dash and it will leave a finger imprint. It sucks. I just use a wet rag on the car. Not saying its your fault. Just throwing out a tip. Seems like when you use armoral it steals the life out of the color and you constantly have to keep using it.

One solution is you could always buy a dash mat. Kidding.

I'm in Arizona and garage my 2008 F. I don't have this issue. There is a multi page thread in the 2nd Gen IS section covering this. I am attaching the Bulletin that someone attached in that thread.

ding ding ding !!! I went through this BS with my first year G35, GS350, and LS460. NEVER again !!! NEVER. LOL the RCF guys are having fuel pump failures and have cars down for weeks at a time. My previous experience with frist year model was so bad I didnt even want to buy the 3rd year of the ISF but did my homework and found they were safe.

I agree with the OP that its crappy that they will do the ISX50s but not the F.

good to see this is going class action.

My drivers door panel gets sticky in parts and has also worn the dye off. Called corporate and was also told the isf was not covered. When I took the car in for my 95k and recalls I mentioned it to the sa. They are going to goodwill the panel. But he told me they couldn't order it until next month when the buliten will be "extended out".

Dude, they fixed the problem a long time ago.
Get a new Lexus and let it go.
