Octane boosting additives are junk. I don't care what they want to show in the video, the fact is, if you understand hydrocarbon chemistry, you can figure out for yourself why something in a tiny bottle can't possibly increase the octane even a single point. Add to this the only thing that matters - do you have sufficient octane to prevent ignition retard induced by knock sensors? If you do, then no octane increase will change the output positively. It is possible to lose power using extreme octane rated fuels because the octane enhancers have less BTU per gram than lesser fuels.
I agree, Cali fuel sucks rocks, especially in my Supra - I get 12 mpg driving around town with 91 octane and 18 mpg around town with 93 octane. But the 2UR-GSE was designed and built to run cleanly, efficiently, and powerfully on Cali 91 fuel. There is no point in going to any fuel extremes looking for more power unless you are boosting or squeezing. Period.

It sucks that California gas pumps only sell 87, 89, and 91 octane gas. I really want to try 93 octane on my isf and see if there is any performance gains. I'm also curious if E85 can run in our Fs or a combo of mix. Any one who did tried the difference between the two or three, can you please chime in? I like to drag race sparingly @ sac raceway so the better my times get, the happier i am.
(Sounds like from a Texan,huh??

I've been blending 91/e85 4:1 for the past 2000miles while living in socal. I Haven't had any issues with it. The power delivery feels a bit smother, I feel I may be running more timing but I have no ways to check.
