Default could somebody 'splain nitrous to me?

sorry if stupid question.

i was trying to understand how nitrous works, at least from a 'using it' perspective.

i'm confused because it seems you need a lot of things before you can use it. for example, a bottle opener, heater, some kind of on/off switch? and like you have to purge it and stuff? and then do you determine with some kind of setting at what rpm it kicks in?

in otherwords, you can't just have a good kit in your car and a bottle in the trunk and then flip it on at a stoplight or something, with a simple switch on the console, and be ready to rock?

do you have to like have it warm up or otherwise wait for it to be 'ready' or do you just have to have it 'on' from the time you start the car to be able to use it?

thank you in advance! sorry if dumb question, i've tried asking before, but always get confused at the answers, ha

Honestly, you're going to find more info searching on Google than asking on this forum. Some good starter info here: http://www.carthrottle.com/post/engineering-explained-how-nos-works/.

Once you learn more about how NOS systems work in general, then you can ask more specific questions in here about setups that people have on the F.

lolz, "i need noz"

article was informative, but now i still don't get if you can just easily activate with a simple on/off switch, and it would be just ready to go.

so like in a typical driving scenario. on a trip to the grocery store. then if you wanna drag someone at a stop light, you can't just switch it on and it will be good to go? there is some startup time/process involved? this is my main quesiton i guess

If you have a remote bottle opener, then yes you can. Just flip switches to activate system, open bottle, quick purge and then go time

That's why I am running the jms controller lol, it's a sweet all inclusive controller and is easy to understand how to use.
