We need a consensus on this.. we should put up a poll.. my concern with Sylvan Lake, it has limited space and lack a good location for photo shoot... most people in here seem to favor Drumheller. I prefer Drumheller but can live with Sylvan Lake.
Someone who know both area well should post a pro/con for each location.

Most people from calgary prefer drumheller I would be surprised if we get 1 edmonton guy there but 3 of them said they would come to sylvan and I know of two more I can talk to and see what they think. I personally don't care about "photo shoots" on a cruise but that seems to be a major concern around here. Maybe do a calgary to drumheller photo shoot cruise then have an Alberta wide meet in Sylvan Lake.
Lets just call it right now and move on to the next subject of what's happening...
Sylvan Lake it is!

Its almost the same distance for the Calgary guys to either Drumheller or Sylvan. I think it has most to do with me coming from Lethbridge I think. I have no problem going to sylvan lake.

Fellas there is a big cruise this sunday from Calgary to Banff for a cruise/bbq. Its a bunch of local guys with heavily modified imports.
No beaters; all well done supra's, silvias, s2000's and skylines for the most part.
Anyone interested?

I think they call themselves "nightmare garage"
Meet is going to be at the Big Bucket Car wash off of Peigan and Barlow (right in behind the McDonalds) at 1pm.
Would be deadly to have a couple of F's there.

I would have, but i'm in vancouver this weeked. Just saw an obsidian isf, sounded like it had no exhaust at all, very raspy, extremely loud, not my taste at all. I thought my iss forged des exhaust was loud.... its loud, but its a suttle tuned sound. That just sounded terrible to me... but to each their own i guess!

Any of you guys going to driven? I'm planning to go and will be in Calgary for the whole weekend. Maybe we can have a mini meet or something if you guys want. If not, do any of you Calgary people know about weekly meets that Calgary has?

I checked google maps, looking for a good place in Sylvan lake, and there is a big parking lot right on the lake at 40st and 50a ave. I'm going to assume this parking will be full by mid day tho.
There is another lot at 49ave and 46street. may be a good plan B.
If we try to make it an early(ish) morning meet up, we could probably get in the lot thats on the lake. (would be good backdrop for people wanting pictures)
anyone else have suggestions? I was just looking around on google street and sat view.

With my last car I used to go to the Driven shows usually in the 780t00ners booth, but my ISF is pretty basic so I will likely go but not enter my car.
Depending on the weather and time we show up group lake shore parking in sylvan might be hard to come by although the VQ guys got it last year I think they did it on a Sunday and where there before noon.
I have organized about a dozen cruises to sylvan with various car clubs over the years, one thing guys liked was to meet at the North hill INN parking lot in RedDeer so Edmonton/calgary come together there then cruise to sylvan together. Typically head west on 67th street cross hiway 2 then turn south onto "burnt lake trail" it's super quiet hiway for a little spirited driving if desired. Then go in the west end of Sylvan it's easiest to get the group altogether to cruise the lake shore. Then find parking along lakeshore drive before or shortly after noon.
I have a spot for individual photos
And a spot for pairs but aside from parking lots no good ones for group shots.

The G/Z club had their meet today, it looks like they had no issues finding parking. If the link works....

There is a possibility that I may be dropping from the meet. I just got transferred to Fernie, makes it a bit longer drive and I don't know my schedule yet, so we will see what happens. I still really want to take part in this...
If anyone from the Calgary area is interested, I will be going to Medicine Hat on Friday May 29th for the Friday Night Fun Night racing at the 1/4 mile track. Tech at 6pm and Racing at 7pm!
