just wanted to update w/ my conversation w/ corporate. they said the recall does not allow for the wire harness part to be replaced and as such, they will not be replacing mine. but as a loyal lexus customer (my wife and i have had 4 lexues between us) they are giving me a $250 voucher to be used at any lexus dealership w/o and expiration date for my troubles. oh well, better than nothing! i'll take it.

Any thoughts? should i contact the dealer? Can they be held accountable for this?

I don't think any part of the cooling system is touched for the recall. I believe it's just replacing gaskets on the fuel sensor

Lexus of Greenville (SC) also refuses to fix the broken wire cover. Corporate will not pay for it so they won't fix it. The service manager even explained that they have replaced several dashes under recall and when the vents break because they are "old" they don't replace them. Wow.

Just picked my ISF up at Lexus San Diego in Kearny Mesa. Happy to report, they were able to do the job without breaking the Wiring Harness cover. The Service Rep even assured me prior to the job, "If they break it, they will replace it". Drove 30 miles afterwards, and no issues.

I dropped my car for the both recalls and for them to check on the coolant leak on the top of motor between the heads. Well 16 days later I am still in the courtesy vehicle. My fan assembly needed placing because the bolts backed out on one side. I also talked to the head tech prior too about the harness protector and he said if they break it they will fix it, which they did. However, when digging in to check if the coolant was leaking the tech broke one of my injectors! Majority of the time they have been waiting in parts and say they will have the car ready by Thursday or Friday, fingers crossed.

Well, tomorrow I am taking my car in for this recall. Hopefully, they don't break anything and nothing will leak......

Took mine in last week, and they ended up cracking the plastic. Didn't tell me of course. The service director said they'd get me back in to take care of it, but haven't heard anything since. Given the various experiences on here, I'm not getting my hopes up.

I finally brought my car into Bel-air Lexus in Ottawa.

They washed the car, filled it with fuel, replaced the parts and the fan cooling screws and did not break anything.

Job was done well and I'm happy.
