Unhappy 2008 ISF Battery Jumper Cable Crossed.

I feel like an idiot but I accidentally crossed my jumper cable. The car starts but the engine lights is on, the gas pedal only allows the vehicle to increase to 2k rpm and the radio is out. My VSC is blinking. Any Ideas?

Have you checked all your fuses?

I'm not a fan of the poor marking system Lexus used for identifying positive under low light conditions either. Did you connect another battery or car when you did this? A 2 amp battery charger won't cause a major issue if you hook it up backwards. AMHIK.

Back in the day, the Supra's would blow their main 100A fusible link when this happened. I bought an old MKIII turbo a long time ago because the guy crossed the leads when jumping and figured he had fried his entire electrical. I didn't know what happened but I was buying the car mostly for parts. When I got it home I found out about the fusible link and changed it out. Everything else was pretty much ok electrically. Drove the car on and off for about year and a half before it finally bit the dust, mostly because it just rusted away. Another guy I know did the same thing with his Supra. His Mechanic was going to charge him hundreds to fix it up. I told him about the fusible link. Turned out to be a thirty dollar fix.

Maybe yours is a simple fix too.

Would a engine diagnostic test tell me which fuse is blown? I'll check the fuse in the morning. It's running late. I always thought the right side would reserve for the positive terminal but I was wrong.

I did that once, back in the 70s. My wife, at the time, had a 1973 Malibu and her battery went dead. That car had a large usable link copper flat cable. I tried to jump it from my 1972 GTO, and crossed the damn jumper cables. I replaced the fusable link, and good to go. I will never make that mistake again! I felt like a real boob!!!!!!

+1 on the Main fuse, it's supposed to blow to protect other electrical components

Thanks everyone. It was the fuse. on the left side. I had to open up the covers to reach there. There's like 3 fuse box I had to go through. I don't know why they don't use put it all under the passenger side. Red Fuse 10 blew up. Thank God I bought a Lexus.. any other car my computer would have been fried. lol
