I have always suggested the replacement certificates. In the past they have simply warrantied the tires with their certificates. In all honesty if they start to let go at the next DE event in 2 weeks I will just scrap them and pay. $500 is not a lot of money for three track days of rubber and hopefully 7k miles on the road and I dont want to trade performance at the track or even on the street . In light of how well they did worn this weekend I think they will be fine . Michelin REALLY developed an amazing tire with the PSS. True LeMans tech for the street. I will keep you guys posted.
PS just a reminder : The manager said Michelin is really strict about even wear in the tires they replace under warranty. The manager said mine looked perfect. As a rule I always get alignment with new tires

I don't understand why you are surprised the worn tires worked well. Street tires are normally shaved to 4/32 tread depth for competition because the taller tread blocks squirm and heat up faster than shaved ones, making the tire more greasy. Tires work best as they approach minimum tread depth simply because they flex a whole lot less.

Thanks bud
Im loving some . Im going to add them to the garage gallery. 20x30 " baby !!
They do not handle as well as when they were new but I am feeling maybe a 10% difference through chicanes but maybe a 20% decrease in initial corner exit grip. The rubber is drying out with the heat cycles. You know this. People run new shaven tires not old worn tires at the track, correct ? Also if you look at the face of a PSS after a track day, unlike the Bridgestones ( oem RE050A) that had shredded tread blocks and even the edges of the block pulled up so that the surface of the tire was no longer uniform , mine look fine ( relatively ). Ill try to post a pic later. Not saying its not obvious, just saying its not nearly as obvious when I compare the two tires. Also after a 1000 miles or less the rubber that was damaged at the surface is worn off and the fresh rubber beneath is exposed later. As long as you dont roll into the shop the day after the track day it might pass lol.
Like I said , $500 is not a lot of cash to drop on 4 track days of rubber and 7k miles. Im happy. Just figured Id see if they would warranty them . Since most of the people at the shop are my patients I usually get BIG TIME preferential treatment . It also helps when you drop $2300 on tires for your LS460 ( used to run 22" Michelin PS2 255/30/22 and 295/25/22....baller tires lol. Most would never run tires that expensive unless its an exotic car) over and over again and you have been a customer for the same shop for 12 years . Not holding my breath but I will report back. In the end we all have to pay to play.

Only someone who knows nothing about tires would accept a warranty claim on tires used at the track. Track wear is painfully obvious - shoulder blocks are shredded, not smooth, all tread blocks have rounded and show evidence of shredding (because they have been), and the center tread is less worn than the inside or outside edges.
