Default brake gas pedal software

I (think) i recall it mentioned somewhere about not being able to left foot brake because the software kills the throttle when you have both depressed, did that start in a specific MY, and can you techstream that outta there?

thx

No. Either you got the update or you refused it. All model years were forced to update unless the owner specifically declined it. As far as I know, Lou and I declined this update (more than once, because they ask every time).

I did refuse the Software Recall and I also refused the Pedal Change I guess, the only thing I have had done at the dealer is the mirror change.

Every year including 2008 and any year Toyota/Lexus/Scion where it is possible to reflash this to the ECM. No exceptions unless you told them you refused the update.

Yes, it was incorporated into production vehicles sometime during the 2010 model year run. I believe the way to tell if you have the update or not (whether flashed by the dealer, or delivered on your vehicle) is to check the gas pedal. If you have the old original full size pedal, it you have original software, if you have the later smaller pedal you have the modified software.

There was a long thread on the issue back in 2010:

^^^^Both changes were simultaneous, if you have one you have the other.

i drove a couple of isf's this past week (08 and 11) all i drove had the smaller pedal and i was curious too, as mine was declined by the previous owner and me. so i was able to test this theory out.

- burnouts are still possible

- cruising at 40 mph not lifting off the gas pedal and applying the brakes - not affected, throttle didnt change at all

- didnt try full throttle and apply brakes, road was too short.

On a side note there is a massive difference between the 08 and 11, but that is another thread
