I had an 08 IS-F and remember the wheel was pretty thin and boring. Did Lexus change the steering wheel in 2011+ models to something thicker?

Did Lexus offer optional color steering wheels to match the red terracotta leather?


If anyone has an old IS-F steering wheel sitting around they want to sell let me know.

yep, wheel is thicker, the button housings are like aluminum or some silver colored plastic instead of black, and they added the sport button on the wheel. and made the leather around the bottom of the steering wheel, where the f log is, blue.

and yeah the steering wheel on the red interior colors is red on the bottom where its usually blue.

Yup, noticeably thicker and it feels really great.

I had this wheel on my IS350.

Which was thicker than the OEM 08-10 IS-F wheel, my 2012 IS-F wheel was even much thicker than that one and the first thing I noticed when I sat in it.

Wasn't aware it was thicker too. Personally I don't like the red on the wheel or even the look of the red and black contrasting interior . I do wish my whee was a little thicker and I love the idea of having the sport button on the wheel especially since we all have to press the button every time we start the car

yeah i'm definitely not a fan of the terracotta as well, i mean its neat but just not for me. i do like the blue accent leather on the sterring wheels though, i think that looks sharp, without be too in yo face

agree too about the sport button, i think about it every time i have to hit it on the dash, which like you said is everyday. ha. hopefully one day i will get a 2013 though.
