Default In Cabin AC Filter

Does everyone use the Charcoal Carbon Impregnated Cabin Air Filter (Deodorant Filter) or The Particle Filter?

Is it really worth spending double for the Charcoal/Carbon?

Part Numbers:
87139-07010 - Factory Pollen Filter (Replaces 87139-30040)
87139-50100 - Factory Deodorant Filter (Charcoal, Replaces 87139-50060)
87139-YZZ08 - MVP Pollen Filter
87139-YZZ10 - MVP Deodorant Filter (Charcoal)

(MVP = Market Value Pricing, cheaper alternatives available from Toyota/Lexus)

Any real difference in the smell and air quality between the particle and charcoal/carbon filter?

I have it in my car as of last week, only cost $30 for the OE brand & if it helps to eliminate odors then I will change it out every year as I hear is recommended.
