TIS has a feature to show detailed information about your car. It's called a VIN inquiry, and one of the cool things it tells you is your car's actual birthday.

My F was born on July 26th, 2008.

My Supra was born May 28th, 1993 (we will be going out for a celebratory adult beverage when it turns 21 next month!)

You can also see all the factory installed options in detail for your particular car. Pretty cool stuff!

If you look on the side of the driver door you can see the month and year of the build date as well.

TIS def. has some cool features and aspects outside of the billions of pages in manuals. I've been subscribing in monthly increments but a full years subscription is easily justified once we put another Toyota in the garage.

Have to have a subscription to TIS. If you're really desperate and don't want to spend the money, PM me your VIN and I'll look it up for you. I've had an annual subscription since '06. With three Toyotas in the garage, it's easy to justify.

You're not kidding about the billions. I needed some specific information the other day, so I did the two day subscription, and the amount of content was insane.

Side note:
Carfax lists a shipped date to FL of 1/12/2009. Guess they weren't exactly flying off of lots?

No, definitely not. When I bought mine in December of '08, Lexus of Knoxville had four IS-Fs on the lot, one of them had been there since May. If I could have talked the wife into USB, I'd've driven to Knoxville to buy it. They were ready to make a deal!

Mine was born July 22nd, 2008.. Just before the 2009 factory month turnover

First sold as new / purchased in April 2009.. It sat in an enclosed parking garage for 8 months waiting for me.

There were 5 other 08's there too.. . All eventually sold.
