Looks good - did you notice any difference in the brightness of the LED strip? Mine have some (very slight) paint wrinkling/bubbling too that the dealer took photos of, thinking of having them replaced.

Yes they are much brighter and as you can see color change closer to 6000k temp. There is TSIB for headlights that us covered under warranty get them change won't cost you anything. And they look wayyyyy better then older headlights. New Headlights installed onto 2011 F before after pics-20140318_200424.jpg

Nice - than I am gonna do it. I was a little hesitant that the dealer might scratch up the bumper or screw up the alignment of the lights during the install. But it is something I need to do...especially if they are brighter!

How bad was the bubble before they agreed to replace them? I too have a 2011 and wanting an upgrade to 2012 headlight.

I don't that they are brighter, just whiter. Some one had done a comparision one shot of the 11 and 12 side by side and the 11 was brighter. Just that the 12 is a nicer white. The 11 is closer to 4500k color and the 12 is closer to 5500k color. It is not quite 6000k because 6000K HID are still slightly whiter than the 12 LED. Remember, the closer you are to 4300k with the same wattage, the more visible light it will be. That is why 6000k 35w HID is less bright than OEM 4300k HID. You are sacrificing brightness for color.

They look so much better. After 2 yrs my 2011 headlights are experiencing the bubbling issue as well. Problem is, my F is a 2008.

I wonder if they would accept the car being an 08 and modified with the 2011 headlights or blame it on the fact that it wasn't what the car came with and blame the installation as the cause. I would love the 2012 whiter LED versions...and no bubbles lol

Unfortunately TSIB applies to 2011 2012 cars since your F is 08 tsib will not apply even with 11 headlights retrofitted in Remember they use your Vin# when processing your warranty claim. Here's portion of tsib

HID Headlamp Housing Paint Bubble / Poor Appearance
Service
Category Vehicle Exterior
Section Lighting (ext) Market USA
Applicability
Introduction
YEAR(S) MODEL(S) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 2011 – 2012 IS F, IS250, IS250C, IS350, IS350C
Some 2011 – 2012 model year IS 250/350/250C/350C and IS F vehicles equipped with HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlights may exhibit a paint bubbling/wrinkling concern on top of the LED strip within one or both of the headlight housings. Newly designed headlight units have been developed to address this condition. Follow the procedure in this bulletin to install the updated headlight units.
