They probably need the IS-F assembly line and personnel for the RC-F

I would guess what Lexus does not want to do is chase BMW, having to produce F versions of every car year after year. I do not see the logic of a GSF, it cannot be as nimble as the ISF. I do see a slot for an afffordable 2+2, if they choose to pursue it, LFA technology in a cheaper wrapping. That would be worth the effort.

I believe I read yesterday in MotorAuthority that it was already confirmed. Can't find the link now.

I think the number of 12,000 is an extremely rounded. I have yet to see any VIN on cars.com over the 11,600 mark - the highest I saw so far was 11,557

Cool

They definitely need to build another IS-F, which should be flawless considering what Lexus has learned and improved upon in the past 6 years of production.

Having said that, here is what I think will happen:

* RC-F gets released this coming year, which I expect will be received well.

* GS-F production follows.

I think the GS-F will play the biggest role in determining whether an IS-F 2nd Gen comes into the market.

I think the market needs a four door compact sports car which the GS-F isn't. And Lexus/Toyota are out to make money. Which is why I think they are probably as many have said working on the 2nd gen IS-F and the 1st GS-F as we speak.

Just my 2 cents,

Paul
