Default When to replace brakes

I currently have around 27k miles on my F & I was wondering when everyone was replacing there pads/rotors.. I know theres a huge thread on brakes but havent seen anything about mileage. Just wondering what the F drivers are getting out of their pads/rotors.. &&&& it seems like figs 2 piece rotors with hawks + plus pads are the way to go?

Just check by looking at your pads when the wheel is off or through the spokes of your wheel.

The rotors need to be measured but at 27k most likely its ok unless the car had track time.

The car is heavy and depending on how you drive, everyone will wear out their brakes differently.

From my personal experience, Hawk pads are all noisey and overpriced.

Track use won't make the rotors too thin. They'll crack beyond service limits before they get too thin. AMHIK.

Agreed, track time will wear them differently than driving. I have personally never cracked rotors on my previous cars at the track but the ISF can surely cause issues with the weight

so I guess im way over due for my brake pads front and rear. OEM pads, second set at only 27k miles.. I never track, I drive aggressive sometimes but not often to be replacing brake pads that often. & I guess I need new rotors too... I got all this checked out by a shop that has no intentions to rip me off..
So now.. what route for rotors and pads should I go with?

anyone have experience with these?

Im looking for something that has less oem dust, good or a better grab, and fade doesn't really matter since I don't track.. and rotors I have no clue what I want, something good.

OK, but I have nearly 100k miles on my F and I'm still on the original rear rotors, and that includes track weekends with full race pads. The rear brakes on this car hardly ever get used unless you're making the eLSD work big overtime.

Spend your money as you see fit, but I think you'd be wise to measure the rears at the very least.

Not like MB. There are tiny metal tabs attached to the pads. When they contact the rotor (with 1mm of pad remaining) they make a loud screeching sound. So you won't get a dash indication, you'll hear a loud squeal from the brakes as an indication your pads are at the wear limit.

Or you can do what I did at the track, and tap your brakes in the pits, hear the metal on metal clank, and know your racing laps are over for the weekend, and it's time to put the street pads back in to drive home.

This is what a fully worn out brake pad looks like:

The rest looked like this:

Yes, the disc was still in fine shape after this.

I agree with lobux… I cracked my OEM rotors beyond safety after about 10 HPDE events (1/2 days)…. I also cracked my two-piece rotors from Figs as well and am waiting on replacements (Front only on these and the OEM's…..rears have not cracked)

I agree with Lobux…. I truly doubt your rotors truly need replaced… have them measured Front and Rear….
