I went with a red top. If you do, get the figs battery bar as the factory tie down is a bit loose with the red top installed. I wanted to get a GU1R but there's too many variables I wanted answered that couldn't be answered before I dropped $550 on a battery.

The stock battery size is Group 24. And yes, the top bar on the battery holder secures the battery in its cradle. I, for one, wouldn't run without it.

That's fine. But, the correct size is group 24. Anybody can make things fit. I choose not to when it comes to an automotive battery.

used to run Optimas in my G35 but since Lexus oem batteries are covered under warranty if they die prematurely , and they ALWAYS seem to die early in AZ I havent paid for a battery in any of my 3 Lexus sedans. I have noticed with the 2 V8s I have had ( ISF and LS460) the batteries seem to die faster. I think its the added heat. The Optimas last a long time and they are lighter too

I am running one of these:

http://www.optimabatteries.com/en-us...cycle-battery/

Yes, the battery is smaller than the OEM Panasonic however it fits fine with the OEM battery tie with one of these:

The yellow Optima lifter tray fits snug into the OEM battery tray in the car and then lifts it to the correct height, and yes it should come with one of these as well. If not ask for one.
