Lexus IS-F South Africa
Hi guys
New to the forum unfortunately there's no real forum in South Africa so thought is join yours , iv had my 2010 Is-F now for about 6 months.
Iv had a full exhaust fitted by a very reputable company (RGMotorsport) here in South Africa and at the same time tuned the car with a 2 mode selectable map, one for every day driving and one for a bit more oomph, Recently fitted the Injen Intake as well... Power gains where pretty decent for our altitude and temp (5500ft and average summer day temp 30C/86F)
Stock wKw 222.5 after mods mode 1: 244.5 - mode 2 :261.4 Stock torque(Nm) 444.7 after mods mode 1: 488.7 - mode 2: 516.4.
Will post some photos soon once I figure out how...

Yea they use a piggy back system. (Uni-Q unichip) it's quite a nice system as there is no splicing into the wiring it's a plug and play system, I was a bit skeptical at first but decided to bite the bullet... As RGM warrants all there work with a 6 month warranty!!

What tune did you do exactly? as far as I know there are no tunes available for this car?!

Hmm, how do I know if mine is JDM Spec?
I believe it would probably be closer to JDM spec than US or AUS spec since I'm in the middle east (GCC Spec), but is there a code or something I can get to make sure which spec mine is?
and even on JDM Spec cars, what tuning options are available? I didn't know that even they had this option.

Hi all thanks for all the warm welcomes...
About the whole tuning thing, first off I'm not a boffen regarding this topic but what I understand is, our standard ECU can't be tuned regardless of being JDM , US, AUS ect... But by using a piggy back system such as UNI-CHIP, tuners are able to manipulate the standard ECU , the piggy back ECU as far as I know intercepts the information to / and from the standard engine ECU and adjusts the signal to enable the engine to reach its full potential. What's also nice with the piggy back system is it allows you to tune the car for whatever mods you have or are planning to do in the future... Such as nitrous mapping, launch control, even turbo and supercharger mapping can be done through the system including being able to adjust boost levels.
