I just hope this car will come in as definitely lighter than the IS-F as mentioned online with the extensive use of lightweight materials. This car is tempting me to delay my GT-R purchase.
My source at Lexus tells me 478 HP for the top of the line. I also heard 75 ish for the price.

Top of the line meaning the F variant or top of the line meaning like the C63 Performance Package which bumps horses to a similar 480? 75K I think is pushing it. Hopefully it's less than that. Thanks

I'm not liking the wheel perhaps the ISF Samarai theme. Slotted rotors are a nice touch. Hopefully at least 480hp +

If they approach 480HP then yeah, I could see a fully loaded model close to $75K. The ~500hp C63 is right in that same ballpark when it is fully loaded. I wonder how many they'll sell at that price point though?

It seems like most of the hate comes from the add talking about the "heritage" that the F brand is known for. I did think that was a poor choice of words to be fair, and probably worthy of a little criticism.

~500hp lighter weight and ISF style wheels would be ideal... And of course Lexus reliability. Lexus could go FI but that could raise issues with engine reliability.

I was told "$75k" ish. I have to believe that the boost in horsepower comes with a price. I hope I am wrong, but I would expect to pay more. My loaded F was around $70k, so it is not too much of a stretch if you consider the gain.

Thanks. I hope you are wrong as well as well. I can buy a used GTR, Maserati coupe Type F, Porsche Cayman, C7 Stingray, Audi RS5 or the M4 at this price point. If the RC-F outperforms these cars, then the choice is easy. But I highly doubt it.

obviously purchasing a car is very subjective to what each end user is looking for. All I know is that Lexus makes some incredibly reliable cars and yes you might not have the same "performance" as a C63 but I bet you in the long run the Lexus will be a better Daily Driver and have very little to no issues. I had put 35K miles on my F in just a year and a half and not one single issue and I drive spirited on many weekends with not a complaint.

that being said im sure the RCF will be a fun refined car and hopefully like everyone else has in the upper 450-475hp range and more carbon fiber goodies

I am most likely going to sell my F in the next few months because I now have a new dodge ram as a my daily and for my weekend car I want something faster and with tuning options so looking at a 2011-12 GTR if the RCF would have tuning abilities I would most likely wait but I doubt it will

Either way looking fwd to seeing this and the specs!

yes same motor most likely which is fine as long as it puts out more power which it will have (but to what extent it the question). same 8 spd tranny nothing wrong with that quickest shifting single clutch tranny out there and no issues with the differential so why fix something if it is not broken all they really need to do is make more power and make it handle slightly better

I would not mind the same motor as I for sure it will be in different state of tune The 8 speed tranny is bullet proof so no problem again with retention. I heard the DCT in the M3 and C63 are faster but I am sure this 8 speed will evolve into something better suited to the competition.
My only concern is would the RC-F experience be similar to my fully bolted F? If yes, then I will jump to the GT-R as fast as I can say Lexus F.

The RC-F is a great looking car, but I would not trade away my rear seat for it. Sounds like they'll have it at the New York Auto Show, maybe the Northeast group should go together.
