Default 2008 - 2010 vs. 2011 stock suspension question

Hey guys, I'm in the processing of selling my evo and I'm seriously thinking of picking up an IS-F. I've done my research on all the differences between each year and from the looks of it I've narrowed my choices down to either a 2010 vs. a 2011.

From the looks of it, besides the steering input, the suspension is the only other real performance upgrade between the 2010 and 2011. From my research I know that the early models had a stiffer, race oriented suspension, while the newer models have tweeks to make it less rough and more luxurious?

My quesiton is, for the suspension upgrades that lexus implemented, is the difference between the early models vs the 2011, just all for comfort? In other words, does the car still handle around the same as the earlier model years? Or is the 2011 suspension suppose to be a better performer also?

I don't mind the harsh suspension and bumpy ride as I'm coming from a Evo x on coilovers. I more care for the performance aspect of things.

Thanks for the input.

The suspension wasn't upgraded for confort or luxury but for performance. The improved ride was an unintended but good consequence.

Great info. The article implies that the torson was added in 2011? I thought it was 2010 model year?

Mechanical LSD in 2010
Revised, yet improved suspension in 2011, with better bushings throughout the vehicle's front and rear subframe, am I correct?

The part number changes don't support that.

The magazines said all kinds of stuff that is just not true about the changes.

No pics yet for me.i pick it up on Friday. Its Starfire pearl with black interior...16k miles in pretty much like new condition.

I also test drove a 2008. The differences in ride are pretty subtle between the 2008 and 2011. Of course, these were test drives so i didnt have a chance to test the handling limits. Overall, the 2011 felt slightly more refined while cruising but the difference did not seem to be huge.

The difference at the Lightning Lap is truly staggering. More than 10 seconds a lap. That's an eternity on the race track. In 30 laps you/d be going down a lap to an M3 at VIR with a 2008. The 2011 should be pulling away given equal drivers.

So you're saying the 2010 never got a mech LSD? Sorry, I don't understand where you're getting at.
