275/30R19 fit on the front
So, I've been wanting to run wider front tires for some time now. I decided to do a little test to verify fitment. I ordered 10mm spacers and brought them to my tire shop. I then had them install the rear 19x9 +55 stock wheels on the front with the 10mm spacers (thereby making them 19x9 +45). I had them install the fronts in back so that I could drive a little to check fitment.
It was really close to the inner fender liner at full reverse lock, but I couldn't see, hear, or feel any rubbing. I didn't try driving it on the highway because I didn't want to stress the stock length studs. Here are a bunch of pics showing the fitment. Please excuse the terrible weather and poor cell phone pics.
Basically from what I can tell, 275/30R19 Michelin PSS tires fit without issue in the front on a +45 offset wheel. I have a stock suspension, so I can't say it would fit if lowered. I think it would be okay if you were just slightly lowered, but if you were slammed, you would probably rub on the fender on large bumps.
BTW, I know people have mounted 275/285mm tires in front for a track setup, but differences in tire height and the desire to be able to reverse at full lock without rubbing prompted me to do this test. I can now say that when I get new wheels I will definitely run either 275/35R18 & 295/35R18 or 275/30R19 & 295/30R19 tires. This fitment also means people who are upgrading from having 275/30R19s in the rear with stock wheels can reuse those tires on the front if upgrading to wider wheels/tires.

Great info! Thanks for doing that test.
For those looking at 18s, I just bought 18s in +40 offset to do a square 275/35 18 setup with R888s. ERDoc has been running this setup without issues for track.

Great info! I had a feeling 9.0 +45 would be a conservative fit for the fronts, but 275s is pretty meaty up front. Good to know that those looking to upsize tires can reuse them without worry of rubbing. How were you liking the PSS when they were mounted on the rears? And a bigger question...what wheels do you have planned?

With regards to how I like the 275/30R19 PSS tires in the rear. I love them. They offer great traction for acceleration, braking, and turning. They are surprisingly good in the wet as well. My only complaint is that at slow speeds it is still very easy to throw the rear end out if giving it any throttle. I imagine that no tire will fix that until I get a true LSD installed. I have my eye on the OS Giken since I haven't been able to find a used ISF diff with the Torsen LSD.
