Tom's Carbon Fiber Body Kit - Should I clear coat or not AND 3M film???
So I bought the full Tom's Carbon Fiber Body Kit and I'm wondering if I should get it clear coated or not for UV protection. I've been told that it was built with high quality epoxy with UV inhibitors, not with the cheaper polyester based epoxy which can yellow over time due to UV exposure.
So, for those of you with the Tom's CF body kit:
Lastly, I'm thinking of getting either 3M or XPEL clear film to put on the front spoiler and side spoilers for rock chip protection.
So, for those of you with the Tom's CF body kit:
- Did you get it clear coated for extra protection?
- Do you think it helps?
- For those of you who didn't get it clear coated how has your's been holding up?
Lastly, I'm thinking of getting either 3M or XPEL clear film to put on the front spoiler and side spoilers for rock chip protection.
- Has anyone done this?
- What about the rear piece is this exposed to any chipping from rocks at all?

Like he said, i have it almost 2 yrs no problem , if u r going to do it, u have to sand it down with 1000 grits sand paper and then urethane it to protect it from UV, and prevented from yellowing =that's required professional to do it. It already came with gel coat and clear.
