Took delivery on Friday morning, only to find the UK supplier missed the reference to a vented bonnet from my tuner, and sent me the OEM style version!

Got a 2 week wait for the replacement (being shipped over from the States!).

Guy admitted it was his mistake though, so no real harm done.

How much do you guys pay roughly for paint? Will get the majority of mine done in SGM to tone it down slightly.

Thanks for this picture. Gives me a good idea of how mine should turn out.
What front lip is that?

Ok guys, couple of questions if I may.

First, my hood is really tough to close? You need to push really hard to get it to lock properly?

Seems like the hoop bar on the hood is too short maybe? I'm guessing it can be modified, but be good to know if anyone else had any issues??

Second, I'm looking to paint the majority of the hood SGM to match the car, but wanted to see/find out where you guys had them paint up to? Is it the edge of the vents, or down inside to the mesh inserts??

I'd love some close-up's if anyone would be kind enough to show me?

Thanks guys.

I was wondering the exact same thing! I am also going to get mine painted SGM everywhere except the vents, and I was planning to paint everything except for the actual vent fins. I think that will give it the cleanest look when finished.

The hood fits fine for me. To close painted carbon hood, it is best to bring it about a foot from the latch and then slam it down hard. It actually helps the paint from stretching/cracking due to pressure from your hands pushing it down to latch

My hood is painted white with the flat slits in the vents left in carbon only. I think it looks great like that. It is not SGM but I can take some pictures if it helps

Hey Khoa.

Yes please! A few close-up's of the vents would be great fella.

Cheers.

Hey Guys,

Still on the hunt for some close-up's of the vent area on painted examples?

Just need to determine where my shop should be painting up to.

Cheers guys.

Thanks Khoa.

That's exactly what I was looking for buddy.

At least now I can show my bodyshop how I want them to finish it.

Thanks again.

Lol.

Can you imagine the embarrassment if one worked loose during a race?

'Yeah, sorry about my maxipad hitting your windscreen' lol.

It's not as much of an issue on our cars though. The vents aren't located over any fusebox or exposed wiring.

If you are going to move to OC, California; I can help you pick one up locally. Other than that, you can get one shipped from eBay. The hood is often back ordered and takes about 2 months to fulfill though
