I am firmly in the camp that thinks the way your car sounds with the headers and no mufflers (that last set of vids) sounds awful, at least for a car that you will daily or semi-daily. I couldn't stand that for more than a few minutes.

I'm sure the PPE/Joe-Z combo will make you happy. I've heard it personally and it sounds mean as hell when you get on it, but reasonable when you're idling or driving around town.

I have no cats and stock mufflers on right NOW. Car sounds pretty much stock with a bit more rumble on start up.

Solution = electric cut-outs. That way it's quiet(ish) when you want it to be, and when you're in the mood to make some noise just flip a switch. Best of both worlds!

I have a Borla and I'll be getting PPE headers installed within the next week, and I'm going to drive around with that setup for a few weeks and see how I like it. If it's loud enough then I'll leave it, but I'm seriously thinking about the cutouts. I love a mean sounding car, but I wouldn't want to drive with one that sounds like that (in your videos) on a daily basis. Some old school cut outs could be just the ticket!

Here is the kit I'm looking at getting: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/qt...50cp/overview/

It will sound like this:

Great videos in this thread. Im definitely going with the borla! Had borla exhaust on my built 06 sti and it sounded amazing but wasnt over the top. Seems like borla really has their act together and makes a great product
