Really? is that going to affect my performance or safety at all?? I thought a patch and plug seriously degrades the integrity of the tire?

I'd just plug it for now and maybe change the rears out just a bit earlier than usual for peace of mind. Heck my first rear set only got 10k on them before I replaced.

I wouldn't run it up to 160 or anything, but for dding it should suffice.

Ok, good to hear I guess. I've never gone 160 but C&C runs can get a little sporty sometimes. Now I just gotta find a place I trust to do it, probably will just end up taking it to the Lexus dealership.

You better tell them you don't want a plug fix.

I got a tire plugged on the F and I have no problems. I put several thousand miles on the plugged tire. I also got it plugged because the tire place didn't have patches lol. But nothing wrong with a plug!

I also agree that you should take it to get patched. Find a reputable tire dealer in your area (if you're somewhat active in your local C&C group it shouldn't be hard to get recommendations) rather than your Lexus dealership. Not saying Lexus couldn't do it, but this is really a tire issue and I'd rather take it to a shop that deals with this all day every day.

And yes, I've had a patch put in from a screw in a tire on a previous "high performance" car. It did not blow out or affect the performance at all. Like others have said, I wouldn't plan on doing 160mph runs or tracking on the repaired tire necessarily, but spirited drives and DD duty should be fine.

Well just got back from the Goodyear place up the road, too close to sidewall to patch or so they say. Damnit.
