Buy the car from a dealer and purchase warranty through them.

I have GWC exclusionary coverage and I've never had a problem getting service.

How much did that cost? Was it offered at the dealership or did you have to search them out?

If this helps, here is the response from lexus and in response to the transmission fluid as well.
Hope there is no disclosure issue as far as posting this I am doing this in good faith and integrity not to expose any parties:

Recently you submitted a question to the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department.

Thank you for allowing us to be of service to you.

Dear Mr. Runcie,

Thank you for contacting the Lexus Customer Satisfaction Department. Your concern is important to Lexus, and we appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts. We are dedicated to providing superior service.

Per your inquiry, the transmission fluid will be changed after inspection from the dealership. The dealership will inspect the vehicle and transmission fluid. If it is determined that there is a leak or if there is debris in the fluid, the fluid will then be changed. Additionally, the dealership will inspect the fluid if they find a concern with the vehicle that may be stemming from an issue with the transmission.

In regards to your concern with the coolant leak, we would be happy to look into your concern further, however we would need the vehicle to be inspected by a Lexus dealership. Once this has been done, we would recommend contacting us at the number we have provided below. A representative will be able to document your concern and forward it to the appropriate department.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

If you require further assistance, please respond to this e-mail, or contact Lexus Customer Satisfaction at 1-800-255-3987, Monday through Friday, 5:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., or Saturday, 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Pacific Time.

Sincerely,

Bryan Guerrero

Good Morning,
I have a 2008 Lexus ISF, and just turned 100K on the odometer. I am planning on buying a second from the dealer and keeping my current ISF as a daily driver. But, in respect to the transmission the dealer told me there is zero maintenance required for the transmission as far as fluid etc. I am very concerned because my car has been extremely reliable and am I one to perform preventative maintenance to ensure the transmission and vehicle lasts as long as possible.

What is the life of the transmission and is there any preventative maintenance to be done?

Also, I have coolant leaking in the valley of the block, along with many others on the forum? I have a noticed this is a common problem and Lexus is not doing anything to fix. I am loosing coolant slightly and I am afraid I am in the same boat, what can you do to fix in respect to this being a mass problem from 08 to 13?

Thank you Greatly,
Shaun

They will not respond to this, with any relevant information...there is just too few incidents and they will need to diagnose it first.

I'm still waiting for the parts to come in. A hose broke during the work. Been without the F for a week now. Going nuts.

I still intend to submit a request through my dealer about this when I go in.

a friend that has been servicing my isf said there's some coolant residue.

My car is an '08 with just under 60k miles. Bought the car off a private who stated there is an extended warranty but I did not receive any paperwork. Is there any kind of goodwill granted a local Lexus dealer or would I just have to pay out of pocket?

Subscribing. I haven't found a leak yet but I suspect I'm going to fall victim to this also as I can occasionally smell coolant around the grill after extended driving. Been sort of weary of having the fuel recall done but now hearing about this issue it might make the engine take down worthwhile.

My 08 had the leaking h20 pump and was fixed at 30k (now 84k) and while doing my nitrous install I found this clamp is causing a slight leak

Sorry to see this guys.

Being a UK model, I'm not sure if this is a known issue for us?

My car goes in for its service and the two recalls in June.

I'm going to mention the coolant leak and water pump to them as well. Hopefully they will spot the issue when they do the fuel pipe replacement?

Not sure where the engines were assembled for us Brits?

I'll let you know how I get on.

No warranty on mine either, so fingers crossed!
