Should the car be losing coolant on a regular basis? I'm right below the low mark (cold), and I had the ELF done in April 2015 (19K miles ago). I'd like to snuff this out before my warranty expires.

no it should not, if that's the case that means you have a valley platte leak, get it done asap before warranty expires.

i have 2013 and i have reported this issue to the dealership but they did not find anything. I have inspected the car myself but dont find an issue. Does anyone know if a lexus dealership can inspect using a camera to check the valley plate. I only ask because they stated a pressure test was done but found nothing.

I am wondering if i should take it to the 2nd dealership in San Antonio.

grab pictures from the forum members and take them to them, also let them know it is a valley platte leak. make them take it apart. i took it in once and they found nothing, the next time i took it i told him that i know for a fact that it is a valley platte leakand i demanded to take it apart, sure enough the next day they called me to let me know i was right and they were going to fix it

One thing to look at also is the radiator replaced mine. Also helped another member with his replacement . Check the top of the radiator for dried coolant. If not evident get under the car and check for dried pink coolant . I was experiencing low coolant for 6 months until the radiator finally started showing where it was leaking.

Hopefully I don't end up with this problem, I filled up my coolant a couple months ago since it was below the low mark and I couldn't get any heat. I don't smell any coolant outside when the car is up to temp and dont see any signs of a leak anywhere but my extended warranty also just expired recently so it looks like I'll be stuck with the bill if that is the problem

I also never noticed or smelt coolant until one day it finally blew out the back side of the motor.

Since my leak repair my coolant has been at full mark on cold and hot. Hasn't budged at all.

It should be covered under powertrain warranty 6 years/70k miles. Unless you got a CPO or 3rd party extended warranty.

I'll message him and ask if he can post the part numbers in this thread. It will be valuable for all members to reference.

I have 08 and out of warranty. I'm going to buy the parts and bring it to my mechanic to do the job.
