Sorry for bringing a thread back from the dead. Wasn't able to find the answer to my question, so I'll post it here.

I finally got around installing the 2013 Headlights upgrade and was able to get a working copy of techstream software.

So I just messed around with the techstream software, and was able to turn off the DRL. Is there a way to keep the DRL LED Strip working with the Auto settings for the headlights. Because at the moment, its working exactly like JoeZ said before:

Off is Off
One click and LED Strip are ON (with the other DRL on too until I disabled them through techstream)
Two clicks and LED Strip are ON with Headlights.

But when its on AUTO it doesn't behave with the LED strip automatically being on when you turn on the car. Are we stuck with it like that?

cha,

if you want it to be always on you have to repin the connectors. I believe the "sewell" style they repin the connectors so that the leds are always on.

Just read through the thread again and finally understood what repinning mean. Is there a video DIY or a step by step DIY to repin the connectors to get it to always be on?

cha,

I cant remember if there is a post on how to repin the connector but how you do it is you can pull out the white divider with a needle nose plier. With a really thin flathead screwdriver you can push the pins straight out the back of the harness. this is what I did..
best of luck

Does anyone know the part numbers to the covers for these lights? And I think the bottom cover has a wire coming off the main headlight wiring harness; not sure if the cover and that wire come together or separate. I purchased a passenger headlight and noticed it does not have the wire. Thanks.

I can confirm the "sewell" style repin works on my 08 isf.
DRL led strip and low beams also works on auto mode.
i really recommend this way as you dont need to splice any wires.

Is there a thread on the Sewell style repin?

joker

just move the wires to match the photo by digger08 (above)

you can take the pins out by pulling the white plastic divider out with a needle nose.. then you will need a thin screwdriver to push the pins out of the back of the harness

Sorry for bringing up a dead thread but I repinned my harness like Sewell but the LED strip does not stay on with the auto feature. Any help with this would be great.
