I took the Speaker out, it looks just like yours! The part is like a little Bottle Cap that just needs to be glued back on top of the Cone. But I can't get to it without taking the Membrane off. Has anybody taken one of these apart? Is there a way to remove the Membrane without having to rip it out?

Ok, so I removed the Speaker held by two 10mm Bolts. Peeled half of the fabric that covers the speaker and sure enough, what appears to be a Dust Cap, had come loose and was causing the noise. Glued it back in place, put the Speaker back in and the problem was solved, no more noise!

Update... glued the top on the speaker and it sounds brand new. Thanks to all that helped and hopefully this will help someone else with the same issue in the near future!

Great news! I'm so glad I decided to check CL today! I have a similar issue and I hope it's as an easy fix as this

You can do what I did and take a razor and cut open that lil foam grill and just take that little cap off instead of gluing it back...sounds no different with it on or off..horrible design..save that 180 dollars for something else

The cap is just a dust cap to prevent dust from getting in the voice coil. It will work fine without it.

Easy fix o just had to glue it back

Just glue it.. So easy

Easy to take off just use a credit card and then take off 2 10mm bolts

Mine had the exact same issue. Removed the felt, superglued the piece that was loose back in place and reassembled, problem solved!
