Question Smart key: hold unlock to open windows?

I have read on these forums and in the owner's manual that you can open the windows and roof by holding down the unlock button on the smart key. My key/car doesn't do this. I've done a fair amount of internet research and everything I've read in the owners manual suggests I take it to the dealership for (re)programming.

I'm assuming the person who owned the car before me reprogrammed the key to do other functions. So before I take the car to the dealership, and possibly get billed for it, is there a way to program the smart key on my end? Maybe even just reset the key to its default functionality. Thanks in advance for the help.

I don't know if there is a secret combination of opening doors or hitting certain buttons within X seconds for this one, but yes this is a preprogrammed option for most Lexus vehicles.

Keep in mind the car has to be shut off and you have to hold down the unlock button for a few seconds for this to kick in.

Maybe someone could chime in and come up with a DIY to reprogram this feature. Otherwise, you may have to take it to the dealership!

To get this working take the car to your dealer and he can do this in 5 minutes. They plug in the computer and activate it,.

Thanks for that advice. In the owners manual, I see a nice list of dealer configurable options that I'm going to study before taking in. The one other configuration that definitely looks good to me is having the other three doors automatically unlock when you touch-unlock the driver's door.
