Default Almost traded in my 2012 ISF

I just got it about a month ago. My wife was giving me hell because it is too low and I got rid of my old 3 series for it. I had snow tires for the 3 series plus it sat a lot higher. Anyway got a great deal on a new Cayenne turbo. I am driving to the dealership to turn in my ISF. I am at 700 miles at that moment. I have been strictly following the break in period. My cousin is with me on this final ride. He says I should just take it to redline since I have broken it in properly and it is my last day with the car. Well that changed everything - I took an extended ride. The car just came alive. I started thinking that I need to keep this car and buy a cheaper winter vehicle. I don't need to waste my money on a $120K truck. I called the Porsche dealership and told them I'll pass. I headed to the Toyota dealership and picked up one of these for the winter and general hauling duties. The wife is not going to like this either I'm sure.

lol Good to hear your keeping your F. Yeah the F definitely is like a dr jekyll or mr hyde, depending on driving style, which is one of the things I love about our cars. If you drive it casually the car behaves just like your typical luxury car but the second you punch it and get over 3600 rpms for the second intake growl it turns into a sports car. FJs are also nice. Considered getting one of the special edition ones a while back. As far as the wife, just let her know how much money you saved going with what you got instead of the Porsche. Plus maintenance wise you know both cars should get you to 200k relatively worry free.

Now thats a great story. The isf is kinda a sleeper at first until you open her up all the way. Enjoy the car and drive her like she is supposed to be driven.

you only live once,,, she'll get over it. i never tell my wife i bought a new car,,, she sees it when i pick her up from work and then says "no you didn't",,, a week later she tells me she really likes the car... it's worked for me 4 times already. so relax and enjoy the F and the FJ,,, she'll come around.

Every time I buy a car/truck, I ask forgiveness and not permission.

One of these days shes gonna come home with a damned GT-R that she wants...and I am gonna be making the payment. :edads: Congrats on keeping the new IS-F. You were gonna take a bath on it on trade I am sure.

Break in period is redlining it all the time. So the piston rings would set better. Giving you more HP. Drive it like you stole it.
