What Speeds can a Rear Diffuser handle?
I am thinking about getting a rear diffuser but i know they are held on by 3m tape. That being said how fast can you go before the thing just flies off the back?
So for those of you with rear diffusers what is the fastest you have gone and what do you think they can handle?
Thanks

I had a Tom's rear diffuser, it utilized the lower bumper bolts to be bolted up on the bottom and double sided tape on the upper portion of the rear bumper. Carbon Fiber version...they are nearly weightless.......It didnt weigh anymore than a couple sheets of paper......no issues with it ever coming undone

I think our cars are drag (aerodynamically) limited under stock power. Even if electronically limited, if you have modifications, especially headers or nitrous, you can get the car up over the stock limits. Of course there's the issue of accuracy on the speedometer too, so who knows if 174 indicated is really 174. The point is, with proper mounting, you won't drive too fast to rip the diffuser off.

The limiter prevents further acceleration when the reading hits 169 on mine Tested on a UK racetrack we call M5. Well, it looks like a racetrack to me
But as the post above says, the true mph will typically differ from that indicated and the poster with 172+ must have either been using better equipment (gps based?) to measure the true speed or have an expensive bit of japanese kit that overrides the limiter.

I just wanted to make sure. If I'm gonna throw down a grand I want to know that it's not gonna go anywhere. So the 3m tape on the akrym will be enough.

Stock Tire Hight- Limiter comes in at 6300RPM @169MPH
Aftermarket DR- Limiter comes in at 6300RPM @ 175MPH
Due to the fact that I run a different tire size, I really dont pay much attention to what the sleed on the dash says. I know exactly where im at by using the calculations from the drivetrain and engine RPM.
