UK and ISF depreciation
I know Lexus isn't as well known over here but depreciation is almost another world. If anyone fancies picking themselves up a bargain and doesn't mind the work involved getting a car shipped over you can get a lot of car for your money.
Firstly the ISF is only available here with 1 option (sunroof) everything else is standard (including ACC)
Out of curiosity I got a trade in price from my local dealer (was deciding if to move after a year or keep the car for many many years) my car is a 2010 MY, new on the road Sep 2011, 4,200 miles, USB with everything inc sunroof. They offered £28k!
Doesn't bother me too much as just made it easy for me to decide this will be a long term own car however it does sadden me that something this good can drop so fast just because of the badge over here
Edit: Sorry would have made the drop clearer if say list with sunroof is pretty much £60k, and as said below probably actually better to buy there and ship here for value!

To convert that to US dollars, it comes out to $44k. That's a fair asking price for one with your description. Edmunds.com lists the range from $42k (fair) to $48k (excellent). I honestly believe the depreciation for the F isn't as sharp as say an M3 or even the C63. Both of those are sold in far greater quantities than the F. Many of the 08-09 F's are holding their value nicely from what I've seen both here on the forums as well as private party sales.

I've not done the research myself, but I've heard that Japanese cars don't do all that well over in Europe. True? Americans love them!
But $44K USD is not horrible, especially on a trade in price. You wouldn't be getting much more than that here in the states for your trade, so don't feel bad.

Without knowing the original MSRP, no one can state whether the offered price is good, bad, or about right. UK pricing is nothing like US pricing. The US has the least expensive cars in the G7 by a very wide margin.

You're absolutely right, Lance. I completely forgot to take into account the Valkirk's location. Some contacts that I have over there have stated roughly 57k pounds as the MSRP across the pond, which translates to about $90k. In that sense, the IS F there has a sharp depreciation rate. Meanwhile a BMW M3's value is10k pounds more when compared to similar mileage and MY of the OP.

Yeah never understood why but German cars have always been prefered to Japanese, for me it's always been about reliability and quality of service and for those there is nothing that comes close to Lexus!
I think possibly a reason is the length of time people keeps cars, over here most are max 3 years (so longevity isn't so much a concern) but in the US I often hear of people handing cars down through generations and things like that....
