Default Getting ready to buy tires, help please...

I know, I know another tired thread… I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on a set of Bridgestone RE-11’s and want to make sure I’m not throwing my money out the window. I’m NOT concerned about the tire’s performance based on forum member’s feedback, specifically Just F Me. My question is related to the size I should be purchasing.

I’m thinking of going with Front: 245/35/19 and Rear 275/30/19. Will this combo work and serve me well? They offer the setup in stock sizes but I would like to go a little wider in the back. Let me know what you guys think. I was eyeing the 285/35/19 but I’m afraid they might be too tall.

I'm lowered on BC Coilovers and running stock wheels.

Here are the sizes they offer:
225/40R19 235/35R19 245/35R19 245/40R19
255/35R19 265/35R19 275/30R19 285/35R19

Thank you,
Tom

I'd go with that or 265/35/19 at the rear. 285/35/19 is to tall IMO.

whats the biggest both in height and width you can go on the ISF with the stock wheels at stock height without rub? (not including the new 2012 with the wider wheels)

To the OP, plenty of people have run those sizes (245s and 275s) on stock wheels with no fender modding and no rubbing. Your suspension is height adjustable, so just raise the car up slightly if needed.

I'm running those specs on 19x9.5 19x10.5 +35 all around. I'm also lowered on BC coils. I do rub occasionally but it's not bad at all. Usually when I have a full car

I've seen 245/35 front and 285/30 on the stock suspension and it looked really good. In fact, just saw it today... forum member named zapa. He said he doesn't have any rubbing.

Leave.the back 255....go with 245s on front. All of these people making the car still understeer by upsizing all of the tires. Staggering the setup is either for drag cars or to make the car not turn as well.

OK stock sizeHere are the sizes they offer:
225/40R19 - 235/35R19 - To Short 245/35R19 - OK for front 245/40R19 - Too tall for front
255/35R19 - Lowered - Problem in Front? 265/35R19 - Lowered MAY rub in back275/30R19 - OK, but IMO too short 285/35R19 - Too Tall

Thank you,
Tom
Lowered - Makes it tough to predict. But see my comments above. RE-11 is a great extreme performance tire, but will give up performance in the wet. I am running 245/35/19 and 285/30/19 Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Positions on stock wheels, but I am on stock suspension, not lowered. No issues. This is my thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-position.html

If your set on RE-11s and your lowered, I would stay with stock sizes.

That is true. They will fit perfectly on the stock rims and look and function so much better on the car.

Just make sure you have all 4 wheels the same brand. I actually saw an ISF today that had three potenzas and 1 contisport. Sound familiar Vbb??? haha i kid i kid.

The 245 / 285 set up if you are running stock rims are fantastic and fills out everything the way it should be! Looks great in my opinion.

Haha, I hate to get rid of a basically new, perfectly good condition tire, but when I put my new wheels on I will be making sure I get a new Potenza or either new tires in general. I'll probably leave the ContiSport3 on my stock wheel.
