Default What's the Purpose of the Height Sensor Attached to Sway Bar?

I was greasing my sway bar bushings and noticed the height sensor attached to the driver side of the rear sway. What does the height sensor do?

That's exactly right! Thanks! Since I took this off to grease the end links as well (I was grease happy), I messed up the AFS and now get the AFS blinking light. But thanks to CL, there's good info on how to set it back correctly.
